Two brief articles on Charles Denison – Charter Oak New Series 1 50 2 Dec 17 1846

“☞We have received the second No. of “Denison’s Best Bower,” which is a decided improvement upon the first. It deserves to succeed, and we hope it may. The editor—Rev. C.W. Denison—has had some bitter experiences in life, but they may yet be of use to him. Phrenologically, he has large hope, large ideality, and small caution—and this has played the very mischief with him in business matters. But we are persuaded that he always meant to do right—and we trust that he may yet triumph over all his difficulties, and be a stronger man for his long wrestle with poverty, disappointment, and calamity. We see that he has published our name as an agent for Connecticut. We cheerfully accept the appointment, and shall be happy to forward any subscriptions for the “Best Bower” that may be left with us for that purpose. A copy of the paper can be seen at our office.”
