Taiwan is unique. It is is a blend of tradition, creativity, and modern aspirations, along with the challenges of adapting to global demands while preserving cultural identity and promoting creativity, connection, empathy, resilience, and the pursuit of understanding and growth.
- Education and Bilingual Policy: Taiwan's Bilingual 2030 policy reflects the government's push for English proficiency, highlighting cultural values around global competitiveness and education, but there is resistance from teachers and concerns about equity and content understanding that reveal challenges in balancing tradition and modernization.
- Art and Creativity: Art is deeply valued in Taiwan, and is reflected in the emphasis on creative thinking, local artists, and cultural heritage. Events like the Soka Culture Center exhibition and lessons integrating Taiwanese and international art demonstrate the importance of art in preserving identity and fostering creativity.
