Wetherald served as Recording Secretary for the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society for many years. He signed off on all the minutes in the minutes log that is held by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. When he had the rump end of a page to fill, he would make a small artistic flourish, as seen here. p. 68, entry for August 8, 1848.
