This painting is of Peaked Top School when it stood on West Main Road just north of Swamp Road (East side of the Road). Written on backing paper: " 'Old Peaked Top'/The First School House/to be built in Little Compton/1725-1839", "Painted By/Geo. Burleigh" Exhibit label on reverse reads: "EXHIBITED AT THE/SYDNEY RICHMOND BURLEIGH/Exhibition of Paintings/LITTLE COMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY/August 15-(?)"
