Taken in roughly 1883, this image shows a crowd of people sitting in front of the Burleigh House (Owl's Nest) in Little Compton. Among the subjects are George Burleigh (seated on the left with a white jacket), Ruth Burleigh (seated in a white dress), Sarah Burleigh (seated on the ground, middle), and Sydney Burleigh (seated on the ground behind Sarah). Many people are holding tennis rackets; a court was installed on the property by Sydney in 1881.
