Hymn - Not Unrebuk'd, though Suffered Long

                         I.
Not unrebuk'd, though suffer'd long
     To riot in their wickedness;
The gods of earth shall boast in wrong, 
     And rob the poor; the weak oppress,

                         II.
For O! Jehovah stands amid 
     The congregations of the great;
And judges, to the judgment bid, 
     The sentence of their crimes await.

                         III.
"How long," he cries, "shall groans ascend, 
     And pray'rs be shriek'd to me in vain, 
While to the lash your bondmen bend 
     Or hopeless clank the galling chain?

                         IV.
Ye make the merciful a prey
     To pamper to your hellish lusts;
Ye rend the poor man's right away, 
     And tread the feeble in the dust.

                         V.
The vile in heart ye still accept, 
     And stain your souls with crimes abhor'd;
So shall your land be overswept
     With floods of veng'ance from the Lord!

                         VI.
6 Though gods ye deem yourselves and raise
     Your amrs against the King of Heaven
Yet when His wrath shall round you blaze
     How shall your strength and pride be riven?
