True Science Prophecies
While “mole-eyed science” follows the brute trail
Of Forces to their lair in dusty death,
Science, the eagle eyed, whose wings are faith,
Soars beyond Forms, the Protean masks that veil
The immutable Fact, and under all that fail
Sees the unfailing Purpose! Not a breath
Of brief life’s palpitant atomies but saith
Life is eternal! Every graven scale
Of monad, or podura, is a scroll
Of God’s clear hierographs; and every nerve
Of growing sentience prophecies a soul!
The ascending whorls of Evolution serve
As a Grand Stairway to approach the Throne,
From all the trampled dust by winds irreverent blown.
