Eruption of Mounakilauea in the Island of Hawaii
How the grand arches of a euphoric roar,
Gravitate upward with a thunder jar!
And roll their spheric anthem, like a star
Shot from Hadean darkness to the shore
Of Life’s auroral effluence; more and more
The vast revolt of Hyperborean war,
Shakes the grim horror of its lambent car,
To the moaned melodies of wild uproar.
Tumultuous wailings, cavernous and bland,
Make all the rondure redolent of fire!
Billow on billow heaves the regnant hand,
With a broad crash of esculent desire,
And sea and sky, in coruscating gyre,
Hurl back the anthem to the groaning land!
