Dorothy G
How many dimples has Dorothy G?
One in her right cheek,
One in her left cheek,
One in her chin, and that makes three!
Where is the lassie as sweet as she?
Somewhere, may be
Big bonny Baby,
Or dear little Maid – but not for me!
What can rival her childish glee?
Bobolink? Catbird?
No, not that bird
No, nor the other, though merry is he.
Who has a heart so warm and free?
Any young mother
May name me another
But, bless her! I shall wait long to see!
To the fairies, who so dear can be?
Daintily rhyming
Their griefs, and timing
Her song to their dance, as Dorothy G.
Beaming, dreaming Dorothy G?
