[The soft low whisper of the wave]
The soft low whisper of the wave
Makes trilling music on the shore
Till one forgets the seas can rave
And answer storm blasts soar for soar
Half slumbering in that liquid flash
I lean against the grassy blank
And doubt if in the breakers’ dash
Ever some sturdy vessel sank.
